Convergence Foundation (private fund)
Responsibilities: Elaborate concept, implement legal structures and organize headquarters for this foundation, which is dedicated to preserving the planet’s aboriginal cultures. Direct communications.
Accomplishments: Participation in the People Summit of the Americas (2001); official representative of the “Earth Charter” in Quebec; launched a study centre in Abidjan; membership in excess of 500; produced a quarterly newsletter. |

Founders’ Circle Trip (P. Lambert Bronfman)
Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA)
Mandate: Organize eight-day cultural trip to Sweden (plan itinerary, establish budget, determine logistics, organize official visits, prepare travel information packages, escort travellers, etc.).
Accomplishments: Visited 18 architectural sites, four official visits, four methods of transportation, including a three-day cruise, five conferences (Swedish professors and architects).

“La Suisse éternelle” (Eternal Switzerland) Event
Complexe Desjardins
Swiss government and its diplomats in Canada
Mandate: Develop, obtain financing for and set up an exhibit including the recreation of a Swiss village, complete with a mountain, chalets (stands) and a stage (shows). Direct communications and emcee the event.
Accomplishments: 650,000 visitors, 50 shows and food samplings over a 13-day period. Organized official galas attended by Swiss and Canadian officials. Joëlle Currat raised $150,000 (Swiss government and 30 sponsors, including the United Bank of Switzerland). The event was covered by the major Canadian news media.

Le Québec: Invité d'honneur du 11e Salon International du Livre et de la Presse (Quebec: Guest of Honour at the 11th International Book Fair), Palexpo
Québec Édition, ANEL, Department of Canadian Heritage, Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications (Quebec)
Mandate: Design, set up and host Quebec’s Pavillon d’honneur (guest of honour exhibit): “Québec, Terre de Lumière” (Quebec: Land of Light) including displays for books, CD, book signings, round table discussions and activities (stage). Direct communications.
Accomplishments: 120,000 visitors, 89 publishers, 50 authors and 40 shows and activities. Swiss radio and television provided extensive coverage of the event, as did Swiss and Canadian magazines and dailies (40 articles). |

(psychiatric hospital affiliated with McGill University)
Mandate: Coordinate wine tasting evening (eight different wines accompanied by eight courses) and an auction in the lounges of The Queen Elizabeth Hotel.
Accomplishments: 400 guests, over 30 sponsors, $120,000 raised for the foundation (per evening).
